"Cultural Marxism" is a right wing dog whistle that fascists use when they see that the people are waking up to their injustices and they try to guise it through some Red Scare bullshit that's easier for the masses to swallow. It has nothing to do with Marxism or economics, it's purely a tool used by fascists in their war against the people.

😮 you lay out a plan for class division by pushing out poor people to accommodate wealthy professionals and let the poor people be servants for those wealthy individuals and families. That is an awful idea. You are talking about CLASS DIVISION and only care for the wealthy, not for the poor. You are an old man and talking such nonsense is a shame stimulating yourself in public or else you are stupid and dumb not considering human capital issues for the poor.

After working in the field for several years , I couldn’t help but come to the conclusion that “gentrification” is just a term someone came up with once they realized poverty was “too hard” a problem to figure out and wanted something new to talk about/publish/apply for grants with/etc. The “gentrification” is just somebody from outside our neighborhood finally seeing value in our neighborhood…that’s a good thing. The bad thing is that they can outbid me for (enter whatever we’re competing for here)…in other words, my problem isn’t that my neighborhood is now valued by more people, it’s that I can’t afford it…aka, my poverty!…which is what we should’ve been addressing in the first place…and which is what I’m going to have to keep working on wherever my new home is. Personally, I wish we would focus on programs that facilitate economic mobility…once that’s achieved, it brings people “options”/“choices” …once we have that, we can live wherever we want. Remember, “displacement” doesn’t just mean I had to move, it means I had to move somewhere i when i didn’t want to. If my “new home” is some place I like, then I’m fine with it (as long as I like it as much as my old neighborhood anyway). Anyway, just my two cents. I hate to see “hip new concepts” take over the conversations when the original problems still haven’t been fixed yet.

"gentrification affects a broad set of outcomes for incumbent adults and children. Gentrification modestly increases out-migration, though movers are not made observably worse off and aggregate neighborhood change is driven primarily by changes to in-migration. At the same time, many original resident adults stay and benefit from declining poverty exposure and rising house values. Children benefit from increased exposure to neighborhood characteristics known to be correlated with economic opportunity, and some are more likely to attend and complete college. Our results suggest that accommodative policies, such as increasing housing supply in high-demand urban areas, could increase the opportunity benefits we find, reduce out-migration pressure, and promote long-term affordability" Brummet, Quentin and Reed, "The Effects of Gentrification on the Well-Being and Opportunity of Original Resident Adults and Children", 2019.

Who cares if property values go up when someone else just forcefully took over my home? Everyone deserves a place to live and there is incentive to help people live in a nicer area other than money. Gentrification is greed. It doesn’t help the poor, it helps the rich move into areas they want. By the way, the guy in the video started with the “attacks” by saying it’s only the left complaining. Gentrification is a modern word for Genocide. It can be argued that colonial settlers "Gentrified" america when they stole land from the indigenous people. This is a practice of mass manipulation,on all sides. in the 1950's America disinvested in public transit infrastructure (getting rid of trolleys.trains) and invested in highways and suburbs, whites were 'ENCOURAGED" to move to segregated, all white surburb's with home ownership, I.E Levittown's. Black and latinos were 'encouraged" to live in inner city communities in rental housing, mush of it built by the government(THE PROJECTS),banks red lined the inner city, media painted it as dangerous and it became slums,60 years later, the suburbs have become a stale, lifeless, boring nowhere. they ran out of land, so they backtracked decided the inner city is the new frontier. banks stopped redlining. the government created tax breaks, and renters are easy to remove. the media changed the narrative from "Dangerous" to 'Hip,Cool,Up and Coming",suburbanites wanting an exciting life of bars, pubs and dog walking parks were fleeced into paying 3 times the price for the small space, a place there parents ran from decades ago. Gentrification is mass manipulation,a conspiritorial plot by the elites.
